Templer HomeBuild seek a Labourer to join our successful Planned and Reactive Maintenance Business based in Newton Abbot. You will provide excellent rubble clearing, general cleaning (internally- homes and externally-gardens and public areas), mould washing and general labouring duties to support all multi trades, working primarily within void (un-tenanted) properties across Teignbridge.

The Labourer role:
- To undertake mould washing and general clearance works in residential, tenanted and void (empty property) properties as well as on occasion complete general gardening maintenance works using basic hand tools/equipment
- Primarily assist Tradespersons with the ripping out, fitting and finishing of kitchens and bathrooms within residential properties
- To represent Templer HomeBuild in a professional and friendly manner when talking to customers (residents) and internal stakeholders, always.
- On occasion, assist with the safe removal and management of Category B Asbestos
- Complete basic trade work, under a supervisor as well as supporting whatever is needed for the maintenance and voids contract to run successfully to program.
What will you bring as a Labourer?
- Previous experience of working as a Labourer or General Operative in a maintenance or similar trade-based environment, is desirable but not essential.
- The ability to work professionally and considerately in a range of public facing environments, including in vulnerable tenant’s homes, within Social Housing settings.
- Ability to use basic garden machinery and basic hand tools safely. This is a physical role requiring manual handing and hands on tasks; you will describe yourself and fit and someone that enjoys manual labour work.
- The ability to use initiative in problem solving whilst also recognising the importance of communicating and working effectively with others.
- Possession of a full current UK Driving licence, which is essential to undertake the role of Labourer with access to a company van/ cage tipper
- Awareness and respect for Health & Safety, and safe systems of work.
