Templer HomeBuild (THB) seek an enthusiastic Commercial Manager to work together with the Director of Operations and the Leadership team at THB to lead, develop, and mentor a high performing, commercial team of Quantity Surveyors, Trainee Surveyor, Building Surveyors, and a Commercial Assistant in Newton Abbot.

As a Commercial Manager you will also benefit from agile working, therefore we are open to applications from within the Southwest. But please note you will be required, to work from the office for part of the week and attend scheduled management and financial meetings, in person.

The Commercial Manager role:

Working collaboratively, you will take full accountability for the management of the annual budget, reconciliations, and final accounts across all our workstreams/services, at Templer HomeBuild.

Key tasks will include:

  • Inducting, developing, and managing your commercial team; allocating work/responsibilities and ensuring compliance to company processes and accuracy, is at the forefront.
  • Managing, producing, and reporting on annual budgets whilst reviewing and reporting variances on monthly accounts, spend and forecasts. You will be actively involved in senior leadership meetings, presenting periodically on key financial information and figures to the Executive Management Team and the Board at THB and Teign Housing
  • Continually, identifying and managing commercial/financial risks out of the business through introducing and ensuring commitment to new and existing key processes and procedures.
  • Supporting the Director of Operations in implementing effective change for the continued success of THB.

What will you bring as a Commercial Manager?

  • A proven record of commercial management, having successfully managed annual budgets of up to £8 Million or similar, with people management responsibilities. We are open to sector backgrounds and encourage anyone who has worked at this level, within any sector, to apply.
  • Exceptional communication and analytical skills with the ability to take a holistic view on commercial matters, whilst balancing this with being able to identity key areas of focus for the team
  • The proven ability to present and communicate effectively with your team, to customers and the senior leadership team on financial matters, using appropriate language that is accessible, leading to the desired outcome.
  • Proven people management experience, and the desire, to coach and develop people to reach their potential and to achieve their goals.
