Templer Homebuild has a great opportunity for an Administrator to join its dedicated Commercial team of Quantity Surveyors in Newton Abbot. This role would suit an analytical and inquisitive person who thrives within an environment that is focused on delivering value for money.

We’re looking for someone with the flair for detail and investigating data, along with the confidence and keenness to learn and develop in this administrative role. Sound like you?

The Administrator role:

Your main responsibility will be to aid the Quantity Surveying team by completing administrative duties.

Specific tasks will include:

  • Calling suppliers to gain quotes.
  • You will process and update the relevant systems and capture key commercial data (costs and values) in a systematic, organised, and proactive manner.
  • You will be curious, confident and customer service focused with your approach to liaising with the wider team, our suppliers, and subcontractors to support Templers core aim; to improve the businesses performance, achieve value for money and provide an excellent customer journey.
  • You’ll build relationships internally and externally within the extended team, collaborating, monitoring, reporting, challenging processes, and spotting better ways to achieve efficiencies, where appropriate.
  • The management of the Commercial team’s group email inbox.

What will you bring to the Administrator role?

  • Previous experience of working successfully within a maintenance/construction/housing /facilities or similar environment providing administrative support OR
  • You could come from a financial/commercial/payments-based environment with a passion for detail and keenness to learn. We welcome candidates from a variety of backgrounds/sectors with the right behaviours and skills to apply.
  • Excellent IT skills to include MS office suite, specifically Excel.
  • Good numeracy and literacy skills with excellent communication and rapport building skills.
  • You’ll be tenacious and thorough, organised, and methodical. We seek someone who enjoys following processes and gains genuine satisfaction from being precise, accurate and following things through to completion.
